rachel here.

I'm the lady behind the lens and the passion behind the story. I like backpacking on the North Shore, settling in with a good book, and picking up a new craft before I have time to finish the last one. I have a dog that knows all the commands but does whatever she wants to do on a regular basis, and she is my couch buddy for nights when I settle in with a glass of wine and an episode of Friends.

#1 - I love plants.
I feel like this is less an interesting fact and more common knowledge. I have an obsession with all green living things.

#2 - I’ve got scar stories
I have a scar on each knee. The right was from a surgery that resulted after racing a friend down a black diamond at age 11. The other knee was from swimming down the Rhine River in Basil, Switzerland in 2012.

#3 - #2 makes me sound adventurous
in fact, I am not. While I do indulge in lots of things that (from the outside) seem adventurous, I am a total square and I find comfort in monotony. However, if you bring me on an adventure, I’ll absolutely love it - I just don't have that natural knack for adventure.

#4 - Favorite places on earth… so far
I'd never turn down a trip to either Switzerland/France or the North Shore in MN. Two drastically different places, but both equally feed my soul.

#5 - A Heart for community
I get teary eyed when I see community blossoming. Whether it is dancers supporting each other's performances, a group of friends getting together to be creative together, or serving with your gift to help another person out... it all makes my heart swell.

#6 - My enneagram number
Are you into enneagram? My number has been much debated. I'm an Enneagram 6. I'm security minded and passionate about the things I dedicate myself to (except for some reason I can never finish a craft before I pick up the next one) I have bits and pieces of lots of numbers and it threw me off for a long time, but I believe myself to be a 6 with extra 1 powers. Do I sound crazy? You probably haven’t heard of the enneagram. Look it up, yo.

#7 - Sweet white wine <3
No reds here. I like Moscatos and Frontenac Gris. I don’t know didly squat about beer, but I like the brewery vibe, so take me there anyway, haha! I'll enjoy a beer from time to time. Especially at Sea Shanty...

#8 - Second Mondays are my fave night of the month
Sea Shanty at The Dubliner is the best thing since sliced bread. Do you like singing? Beer? Community? You should come. It's great. You've probably seen it on my Instagram stories every month.

#9 - Lastly and most importantly.
I absolutely love Friends. I know Friends like the back of my hand, I use Friends quotes in daily conversation, and I’ve seen every episode at least 5 times. Go ahead, test my knowledge : )

For me, it's all about the story

Whats your story?

Where you started, what your interests are, your big dreams, and what you want to remember about right now. I'd love to tell your story! Coffee shops are always in season and I'd love to swing by your favorite local one and see if we are a good fit!

Tell me about your story and I’ll tell you why I love what I do! All of my work is a result of places I’ve been and stories I’ve had the pleasure of capturing.

Let's pitch the poses and I'll document your real life. The messy, the silly, the belly laughs, the dirty laundry, all of it. I don't want to come in and change who you are. I want to document you as you are. It's important to me that we don't cover up the pieces that make you you.

I'm also a professional member of the Twin Cities Wedding Association. As such, I follow a code of ethics that basically means that "I will accurately represent my qualifications and experience. I am committed to understanding my customer's needs and goals. I will share knowledge and professional experience with others. I maintain the trust of clients and respect they may share confidential information. I will provide services in the areas in which I am qualified to serve."

When I don’t have a camera in my hand, I am spending time with family and friends, either enjoying casual nights in or experiencing the outdoors on trips up North typically on the Superior Hiking Trail. I always enjoy a good game night and I have a small collection of decks of cards ranging from themed sets (like my "Animals" set or "Alice In Wonderland") to sets I've been gifted from trips friends have taken (so far I have decks from Aruba, New York, Alberta, Reno NV, and The Gunflint). If you ever go anywhere fun, find me a cool set to add to my growing collection!

My love of visual story-telling has followed me to 6 countries where I have worked on both personal and non- profit projects. When I don’t have a camera in my hand, I am spending time with family and friends, either enjoying casual nights in or experiencing the outdoors on trips up North typically on the Superior Hiking Trail.

Next places on my travel list:

Ireland (freaking out, i’m going this year!)

Have you been to one of these places? Shoot me the details! Where should I stay? What should I do? Where should I go? I wanna know!
